laymans guide to taking dirty pictures |
| Here's
a few simple technical steps |

1) Please ensure that you
have good quality prints if using a conventional camera. Or, if using a
digital camera, make sure that the image quality on screen is clear & of
an acceptable quality. |

2) Put the colour
photos/ prints in
your scanner, scan
the photos at 72 DPI. Do
not exceed this, as the file size will be too large, & we just
don't have the time to edit all your lovely photos.

Scanning at more than 72 DPI will serve no useful
purpose, as you will not see the benefit on screen when your photos are
published. The image will be physically
larger, & they'll merely take longer for visitors to view your
pages. Also, because we're so impatient, odds are that the
visitor will look elsewhere before it loads. |
| 3) Save your photos on your hard disk. You can use
Paintshop Pro, Adobe Photoshop, or any other popular paint programme
that enables you to convert your scanned photos/
digital images to JPG format. Make sure that no one single
image exceeds 75 KB. If it does it's too large, so you'll need to edit the file size
down. You can do this by resizing the image in your paint programme.
